Project Description

The Arizona Cash Assistance Entrance Study examines the status of families who apply for the Arizona Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) program. The study followed first-time TANF applicants for twenty-one months to determine which families did not complete the process and compared them to families who did receive TANF services.

n=3,518 first time TANF applicants who applied during April, May and June of 1999 (n=1,921 divertees and n=1,597 recipients)
