| Program/Policy Description |
This project is designed to obtain information about the condition of three groups of individuals and families affected by the most recent reform of the welfare program in Florida (WAGES): those who leave welfare; those who are diverted (informally, by withdrawing voluntarily or failing to complete the application process); and those who appear to be eligible but do not enroll. The research will assess the condition of individuals and families in the following areas: employment, financial well-being, health, housing, child care, transportation, emotional situation, and family stability. The project involves both administrative data and a very large telephone survey effort (15,000 households statewide and across four geographic regions).
