Program/Policy Description The project is studying those individuals and families exiting TANF. The study builds on previous work by MPR in Iowa. Tabulations will be conducted across several variables, including urban/rural residence, reason for leaving TANF, and history of TANF receipt.
Notes This project is an ASPE-funded "Leavers" study.

Sample Size and Unit Administrative data is used to track one-month of individuals leaving TANF for 12 months after exit. A survey of 400 leavers, conducted at 8-11 months after exit, provides additional information about these individuals.
