Program/Policy Description To increase the knowledge of the current welfare caseload, this study examines the characteristics, circumstances, and job readiness of single-parent TANF cases in Illinois.
The following research questions are addressed in this study:
1. What are the welfare and employment experiences of TANF recipients in Illinois?
2. What assets and liabilities do TANF recipients bring to the labor market?
3. How do the number and types of liabilities affect employment?
