Domain Income Security/TANF
Status Operational
Type Research and/or Program Evaluation
Program/Policy Description This project is designed to obtain information about the condition of three groups of individuals and families affected by the most recent reform of the welfare program in Florida (WAGES): those who leave welfare; those who are diverted (informally, by withdrawing voluntarily or failing to complete the application process); and those who appear to be eligible but do not enroll. The research will assess the condition of individuals and families in the following areas: employment, financial well-being, health, housing, child care, transportation, emotional situation, and family stability. The project involves both administrative data and a very large telephone survey effort (15,000 households statewide and across four geographic regions).
Notes Definition of leavers: Closed one month.

This project is an ASPE-funded "Leavers" study.
