Program/Policy Description In Iowa, the focus of the Rural Welfare to Work Strategies Project is rural transportation issues. With this project, we will be identifying the transportation needs of low-income, rural residents in one rural Iowa county (Lee County) through focus groups with welfare recipients and community leaders and through secondary and administrative data analysis. Based on these findings, we will develop and implement a community-based pilot program in this county to address the identified transportation needs. Lastly, an evaluation of the pilot will be conducted. The details of the evaluation will be determined based on the specifics of the pilot.
Notes We can provide more information as the specifics of the pilot and the evaluation continue to develop.
