Program/Policy Description This study examines the characteristics of Maryland domestic violence victims on TANF as well as the implementation and impact of the Family Violence Option Reconciliation Act of 1996. The first report of the three-part series focuses on describing the prevalence and correlates of domestic violence in the Maryland Temporary Cash Assistance (TCA) caseload. The second report examines the implementation of the Family Violence Option (FVO) at the jurisdictional level. The third report ties together the findings of the first two reports and presents multivariate statistical analysis to complete the multi-method evaluation of the Family Violence Option (FVO) in Maryland.
