| Program/Policy Description |
This study provides a snapshot of Utah's Family Employment Program recipients who received benefits between September 2002 and February 2003. The program serves "unemployed and underemployed households where a child (or unborn child in the third trimester) has at least two parents who
resided in the household, and those parents are both capable of earning at least $500 a month.” It is primarily a short term assistance program with strict participation requirements.
The purpose of this study is to provide: 1) a general description of FEP-TP participants and their families, 2) detailed information regarding barriers to employment, and 3) insights into the participants’ experiences with the department and this particular program. Where possible, comparisons will be made between this data and information gathered from research with the long term TANF customers. |
