Tennessee’s Families First program was created in September 1996 with a focus on providing short-term assistance and requiring most participants to work or participate in work-related activities designed to help achieve self-sufficiency. Crucial to this process are the few months that follow the end of cash assistance.
The objective of this study is to compare welfare, non-welfare recipients, and leavers in terms of employment, income, well-being, as well as their customer satisfaction of services. |
